Start with the access problem
Decide whether you need a simple guest password, time-limited access or a managed sign-in process. A portal adds equipment and maintenance needs. Avoid asking visitors for unnecessary personal details merely to connect. Confirm the applicable service and privacy requirements for your usage before choosing a system.
Keep isolation separate from sign-in
Seeing a welcome page does not prove guests cannot reach business devices. The underlying network needs appropriate isolation and firewall rules. Payment terminals, office computers and network administration should remain separate. A qualified installer should test access between networks rather than relying on the labels on the Wi-Fi list.
Test ordinary guest devices
Try a current phone and laptop with permission. Check that the sign-in page appears, text is readable, buttons work and access expires as intended. Some applications and device settings can interact differently with portals, so provide a clear way to get help. Do not tell visitors to ignore certificate warnings.
Agree who operates the system
Ask who supplies the portal, hosts it, updates it and handles support. Confirm costs separately from broadband, including any controller or subscription. Fiber Link’s portal deployment and ongoing management must be agreed in a quotation; this article explains the option rather than promising it as a standard plan feature.
Before you request a quotation
- Choose the simplest access method that meets the need.
- Test isolation from business devices.
- Check sign-in and expiry on ordinary phones.
- Agree hosting, privacy, updates and support responsibilities.
Common question
Does a captive portal make guest Wi-Fi secure by itself?
No. Sign-in, wireless protection, isolation and firewall settings are different controls. The full design needs testing.
Local availability and plan terms
For Champa Gali, share the building or house, lane, floor, nearby landmark and map pin. Availability is checked for the premises; a service-area name or PIN code alone does not confirm a connection.
Published home plans are 100 Mbps at ₹499/month, 200 Mbps at ₹699/month, 300 Mbps at ₹799/month and 500 Mbps at ₹1,699/month. Confirm current pricing, taxes, billing period and complete first-payment total. Standard installation is advertised free; confirm included work. The dual-band Wi-Fi router is provided against refundable security: ask for the amount and return terms.
Business networking, public IP, IPv6, failover equipment, hosted services and ongoing management are not assumed to be included. Request a written quotation for the required scope. Check the local broadband page or compare current plans.
