Check the device and application
A working connection needs a compatible router, operating system and destination. Test the actual website, work tool or game over the intended setup. A local-only address is not enough. If a work VPN behaves differently, involve the organisation’s IT contact instead of disabling security controls to make a test pass.
Keep firewall protection in place
IPv6 addressing does not remove the need for firewall rules. Keep unsolicited inbound access blocked unless a specific authorised service requires it. Review rules on both protocols and do not assume IPv4 port-forwarding instructions also describe IPv6 correctly.
