Calculate the first transfer separately
A 100 GB decimal upload contains about 800,000 megabits. At a sustained 20 Mbps it would take roughly 11.1 hours before overhead, competing traffic and remote-service limits. This is a planning example, not a measured connection result. Later incremental backups may be smaller, depending on your software and changes.
Schedule around work
Set bandwidth limits or schedules using supported backup settings so uploads do not fill the connection during calls. Watch whether a long backup increases latency for other users. A bigger plan may help capacity, while router queue management and a better schedule address different parts of the problem.
Keep backup and remote access distinct
A NAS uploading to a cloud service is different from opening inbound access to the NAS. Do not publish the administration interface or disable the firewall to make remote access convenient. Use a supported authenticated method, updates and restricted accounts. Discuss public-IP requirements only if the approved access design needs them.
Test restoration
A completed upload message does not prove you can recover the files you need. Test a small restore, keep access credentials recoverable and document responsibility for retention and encryption keys. Fiber Link supplies connectivity as agreed; storage configuration, cloud charges and backup integrity need their own arrangements.
Before you request a quotation
- Measure the initial backup and normal daily changes.
- Estimate upload time using sustained throughput.
- Schedule transfers around calls and office work.
- Test restores and keep NAS administration private.
Common question
Is a static IP required for cloud backup uploads?
Usually an outbound backup does not inherently require a static IP, but the application or organisation may impose additional requirements. Check the actual service.
Local availability and plan terms
For South Delhi, share the building or house, lane, floor, nearby landmark and map pin. Availability is checked for the premises; a service-area name or PIN code alone does not confirm a connection.
Published home plans are 100 Mbps at ₹499/month, 200 Mbps at ₹699/month, 300 Mbps at ₹799/month and 500 Mbps at ₹1,699/month. Confirm current pricing, taxes, billing period and complete first-payment total. Standard installation is advertised free; confirm included work. The dual-band Wi-Fi router is provided against refundable security: ask for the amount and return terms.
Business networking, public IP, IPv6, failover equipment, hosted services and ongoing management are not assumed to be included. Request a written quotation for the required scope. Check the local broadband page or compare current plans.
